Mr Nicholas Yoong Swie Leong
Chief Executive Officer
Nicholas Yoong is Chief Executive Officer of SGX Mainboard-listed, Intraco Limited. He started his career with Arthur Andersen in Kuala Lumpur before winning a British Chevening Scholarship to pursue his MBA at Warwick Business School in the UK. Upon graduation, he stayed on in the UK for almost a decade, working at the London offices of two major international accounting firms on transaction advisory assignments across Europe (specializing in turnaround and restructuring). He returned to Singapore in 2010 as Executive Director with Ernst & Young before joining HK-headquartered boutique restructuring firm, Borrelli Walsh as Director where he was instrumental in the successful USD2.6bn turnaround and restructuring of PT Berlian Laju Tanker, a dual-listed shipper in Singapore and Jakarta. In 2013, he moved into corporate as Chief Operating Officer at Taylor’s Education Pte Ltd, one of the largest private education companies in Southeast Asia, where he was responsible for overseeing the Group’s overseas investments, international expansion and corporate finance. Nicholas led the successful EDB RFI to develop a new SGD232m K-12 international school in Aljunied (Nexus International School Singapore) including the associated financing.
Nicholas graduated from Cambridge University where he obtained his masters in political science and international studies. He has attended the Programme in International Management at the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM), Sydney and obtained his Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) degree from University Malaya where he was a Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) scholar.
Ms Thed Tian Jee
Group Financial Controller
Tian Jee joined Intraco Limited as Group Financial Controller in March 2017. She spent seven years in audit and assurance with two international accountancy firms serving clients mainly in the manufacturing, trading, construction, agriculture, retail and distribution sectors. After public practice, she switched to the corporate world starting as Finance Manager at Fischer Tech Ltd, a Singapore-based manufacturing company specializing in high volume precision engineering plastic components and thereafter as Group Finance Controller at VibroPower Corporation Limited, a power generator company which provides support to infrastructure projects in Singapore. Both companies are listed on the SGX Mainboard where she was responsible for overseeing the primary aspects of accounting, internal controls, compliance, financial planning and reporting requirements.
Tian Jee graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance. She is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA).
Mr Edmond Lee
Senior Vice President, Intraco Trading Pte Ltd
Edmond Lee is Senior Vice President, Plastics Division for Intraco Trading Pte Ltd.
He has approximately three decades of sourcing and procurement experience in the petrochemicals and packaging sectors. He spent approximately 3 years with Chevron-Phillips prior to joining General Electric Co. (Plastics) ("General Electric") where he spent 14 years rising up to Sourcing Director for Southeast Asia and Australia. Throughout his stint with General Electric, he established the procurement function, developed production-sales-inventory optimisation models (to maximise margins) and delivered substantial cost savings from integrating new business acquisitions. He also led global product line translations from the US and Europe to China and Southeast Asia. As Pacific Sourcing Quality Leader in General Electric, he implemented procurement software solutions as well as automated the new global raw material introduction process.
At his most recent role as Director of Asia Peak Pte Ltd ("Asia Peak"), the Asia Pacific sourcing and procurement arm of Pact Group (the largest manufacturer of rigid plastic packaging products in Australia & New Zealand), Edmond was responsible for leading the growth strategy for Pact Group in Asia. His achievements include delivering cost savings of over USD 50million; growing turnover from a start-up to a USD100million business and negotiating supply contracts worth more than USD200million. He also has vast management experience in managing teams of over 100 people across Australasia in his roles at General Electric and Asia Peak.
Edmond graduated with a bachelor’s degree (honours) in Economics and Law from the University of London.
Mr Soh Yong Poon
Chief Executive Officer, K. A. Group
Yong Poon serves as Chief Executive Officer of K. A. Group, a subsidiary of Intraco Limited. He is the founder of K. A. Group, a business he started in 1987 after identifying the huge potential for specialized fire proofing products and solutions in Singapore. Under his stewardship, K. A. Group is today one of the market leaders in this field in Singapore. In September 2014, K. A. Group became a subsidiary of Intraco when the latter took a majority stake in the company. Yong Poon is responsible for K. A. Group’s strategic direction as well as steering the company towards achieving its corporate objectives and goals. He continues to be responsible for product development.
Ms Caren Soh
Chief Operating Officer, K. A. Group
Caren serves as Chief Operating Officer of K. A. Group, a subsidiary of Intraco Limited. She has been with K. A. Group since 2008. She started with the company as Sales and Marketing Executive and has successfully helped the company launched many new products, which are substantial revenue contributors to the company today. She is currently responsible for strategic business development and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company.
Caren graduated with a Bachelor of Science Management degree from the University of London in 2010, majoring in management.
Mr Chua Kok Ping
Project Manager, IntraWave
Kok Ping joined IntraWave Pte Ltd in 1997. Prior to joining IntraWave, he worked at Motorola (Telecommunication Sector) and Sanderson Computers. He has over 30 years of experience working in the Radio Frequency (“RF”) telecommunication industries which includes RF coverage survey, RF system design, project management, implementation and maintenance of wireless RF data communication system and commercial wireless telecom infrastructure. His notable achievements include:
- Successfully managed and completed the 2G NEL commercial wireless telecom infrastructure project from 1997 to 2003.
- Successfully managed and completed the 3G upgrade for the NEL commercial wireless telecom infrastructure in 2008.
- Secured a 5 year comprehensive maintenance contract for the NEL commercial wireless telecom infrastructure in 2009.
- Secured a 2 year comprehensive maintenance contract extension for the NEL commercial wireless telecom infrastructure in 2014.
Mr Michael Yoong
Chief Representative, Intraco Limited Vietnam
Michael is the Country Manager of The Representative Office of Intraco Limited in Vietnam, where he is responsible for polymer trading operations conducted out of the company's Ho Chi Minh City & Hanoi offices. He joined in November 2007 and has since been instrumental in growing trading volumes fivefold and returning country operations to profitability. Beginning as an internal auditor for DBS bank, he has gained wide management and business development experience with publicly listed firms such as Teledata Limited, Hershing Corporation, Singapore Post and Raffles Education. With a special focus on pathfinding activities in offshore markets, Michael has extensive overseas experience with stints in Indonesia, Pakistan and Australia.
Michael obtained his MBA from the University of Hawaii where he graduated Valedictorian and was granted membership to Beta Gamma Sigma - the Honor Society of AACSB-accredited business schools. He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) degree from Deakin University, Australia.
Mr Maung Maung Lay
General Manager, Tat Hong Intraco Heavy Equipment Co. Ltd
Maung Maung Lay was appointed General Manager of Tat Hong Intraco Heavy Equipment Co. Ltd (THI) on 1st October 2013. Prior to joining THI, he spent 7 years as General Manager with two local construction companies, i.e. Myint Myat Kyaw Construction Company and Chinthe Concrete Company, a subsidiary of the SPA Group, where he was primarily responsible for managing daily operations. His previous experience also encompasses sales and marketing, logistics and administration.
Maung Maung Lay obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Yangon Arts and Science University in 1986. He subsequently obtained his post-graduate Diploma, (DMA - Management and Administration) and MBA from Yangon Institute of Economics.
